The original Z, released in 2016 featured an ultra-thin design, no headphone jack, USB-C connectivity and most notable, the ability to attach “Moto Mods” which gave users the ability to attach various “modules” to the back of the smartphone such as a battery, speaker, print or projector.
Users were skeptical if this design would stick, but Motorola committed to at least three years of this design language and support for mods.
